So we, as parents, try to figure out most of how to raise our kids along the way. And the beauty of it is that we tend to do so with lots of love, trying to attend to the needs of our kids.
Almost all parents I have met with over 15 years of experience are doing a wonderful job. In my 15 years of working with parents, I have found that most of the parents are doing a wonderful job – but still find parenting challenging in daily life. Simple day to day situations can make even the best of us feel frustrated or helpless.

Parenting during and after emigration
Having experienced emigration as a child myself and recently living abroad with my husband and two children, I can safely say tat children are immensely flexible when it comes to adapting to new situations when guided by their parents. Feeling connected as a family helps them to feel safe and supports them through different emotions.
In particular, I’ve experienced that guiding children in moving to another country and supporting them in adapting to a new situation is a great adventure for hem, and all family members involved.
This adventure can be highly rewarding and can turn into an experience that creates growth on a personal level and strengthens the bond between family members. But with all change, there can also be moments where your children feel alone, sad, insecure or unhappy.
I’ve seen all kinds of reactions, some children express these feelings by acting out, and some by turning inward. Though challenging, this offers an opportunity to connect with your child and create safety.
Parenting Consultancy
In a parenting consultation, I will coach you to feel more confident, harmonious, and connected within your family. At the core of my training and coaching is Nonviolent Communication (NVC) combined with 15 years of working as a parenting consult & pedagogical advisor.
On a personal level, NVC has given me great peace, strength and joy and in addition to being a parenting coach, I am an NVC trainer for professionals and teams.
I’d love to welcome you to my office in the middle of nature at Fort Nigtevecht (its only 20 minutes from Amsterdam). Note: an online or telephone consultation is an option too.
